Visit Wales

Visit Wales is the Welsh Assembly Government's tourism team, responsible for the promotion and development of tourism in Wales.

Seeking to raise the country's profile and maximise tourism's contribution to economic and cultural prosperity, Visit Wales' primary role is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the Welsh tourism industry and to provide information and inspiration to potential holidaymakers.

Tourism is a hugely dynamic and competitive market. With tourists spending over £8million a day on trips to Wales, Visit Wales is at the heart of the country's economic and social successes.

Whether you're looking for adventure sports such as coasteering or mountain biking, golden sandy beaches, country cottages, stylish boutique hotels, gastro pubs or even vineyards, Wales has something for every holidaymaker and is fast becoming one of the most stylish holiday destinations.

With the 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor Resort near Newport fast approaching, Visit Wales is working hard to promote and develop golf tourism across the principality. The work is paying off, with more visitors than ever before playing golf on over 200 courses, ranging from renowned, world-class championship links to hilly nine-hole courses.

So, ‘Croeso i Gymru'; Welcome to Wales!
