Raymond Blanc is awarded Lifetime Achievement award at the Tatler Restaurant Awards

January 2009: At the glittering Tatler Restaurant Awards, Raymond Blanc OBE and chef-patron of the two Michelin starred Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons and founder and inspiration of Brasserie Blanc and Maison Blanc, was honoured with the "Lifetime Achievement" award by the show's sponsors, Champagne Louis Roederer. The accolade was presented to Blanc by Michel Janneau, Executive Vice President of Champagne Louis Roederer, Geordie Greig, Editor of Tatler and Jeremy Wayne, Restaurant Editor of Tatler.

Michel Janneau from Executive Vice President of Champagne Louis Roederer commented:

" We award the Lifetime Achievement award to a person who shows an elegance of character and modesty that is hard beat. Raymond Blanc is charming, kind democratic and patient - a gentleman, one of the great chefs of our time as well as being a wonderful leader."

Raymond Blanc commented:

"I am thrilled and honoured to have received this prestigious award both from the team at Champagne Louis Roederer and Tatler. 2009 will be a momentous year for me and my team at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons, as we celebrate our silver anniversary - 25 years of providing a unique experience to each and every guest we have entertained over the years. I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to my teams and Orient-Express, who at all times have supported me in achieving iconic experiences for our guests.

Despite the current gloom, I know there will always be a place for excellence in everyone's hearts and I feel along with my teams at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons, Brasserie Blanc and Maison Blanc, we are achieving this.  I have always striven to ensure that I offer the very best - and will continue to do so - it is the only thing I can do - and I am thrilled that I have been acknowledged for this.""
