Friends Of Conservation 7 May 2009
Take a night out in a good cause on Wednesday 20 May by dropping into a free private viewing of paintings, drawings and engraved glass at the Patrick Mavros showrooms in Fullham Road which is being held in association with the charity Friends of Conservation. http://www.foc-uk.com/events/pope-lawson.asp
Work will be on show by Philip Lawson Johnston who has been a self-taught hand-engraver of glass since 1971. In January 2009 he was granted a Royal Warrant to be Hand-Engraver of Glass to Her Majesty The Queen. In this exhibition he will be showing a wide range of glass pieces engraved with wildlife scenes and floral designs from around the world
The second artist on show is Annabel Pope an internationally acclaimed wildlife artist, drawing inspiration from her numerous travels which allow her to visualise and witness wildlife in its natural environment. The deep rooted passion she holds for her subject matter is captured by her unique style; characterised by vigorous brush strokes, vibrant colour, and lively texture.
