New Key Stage 2 Brochure from Kingswood
- Kingswood's brand new centre Grosvenor Hall plus a range of new activities -

Kingswood, the UK's leading provider of residential school trips and educational school tours, has launched a new Key Stage 2 brochure featuring everything from how to plan a school trip to the wide range of new activities now on offer at the Kingswood centres. The Key Stage 2 brochure is being introduced following research carried out by Kingswood to determine what the main barriers are for teachers organising school trips.

The new Key Stage 2 brochure includes a section on how to overcome barriers to organising school trips as identified in the Kingswood research such as too little time, too much paperwork and not enough support. The brochure also focuses on bringing out the educational content of the Kingswood programmes and highlights how they meet the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto, Every Child Matters policy. The brochure also features Kingswood's newest activity centre for 2010 - Grosvenor Hall in Ashford, Kent which will offer the best facilities in Europe.

Updates to the Discovery Programme
The Discovery Programme, featuring courses in ICT, science, art and the environment, has been refined to a selection of eight key cross-curricular modules, which extend key concepts outside the classroom. The modules are laid out with the key learning objectives highlighted, making it easier than ever for teachers to choose the most suitable courses for their class. The Alpha Projects, previously a stand-alone programme featuring motivational and creative courses, have been rolled up into one module and offered as part of the Discovery Programme.

New activities added into the 2009/2010 programme include:
· 3 x new 3G Swings - at Peak Venture, Dukeshouse Wood and Isle of Wight
· Bridge Building - students work together in teams to build bridges and make it across the pond
· Crate Stack - secure in helmet and harness, students work together adding crates to the stack without it collapsing

· Bouldering - using the indoor climbing walls, pupils recreate the feeling of bouldering on real rocks, staying only a few feet off the ground
· New evening entertainment - Wii Magic
· A new high ropes course at Overstrand
· New climbing & abseiling towers and a new twin zip wire at Peak Venture
· New team challenge courses at Isle of Wight and Staffordshire
