February 2010 - Banyan Tree Madivaru has recently introduced Solitaire - a private Maldivian island experience with only six tented villas to be booked in its entirety for friends and families.

Located in the secluded North Ari Atoll, this exclusive desert island retreat offers guests absolute privacy and seclusion along with value for money. Sleeping up to 14 guests, Banyan Tree Madivaru is a stunning destination for a special occasion with family or friends, where the villa host will tailor make a magical desert island experience. Guests can enjoy private wedding parties, celebrate a birthday or for couples seeking the ultimate in privacy, it is perfect as a private island retreat for two. Each tented villa has been designed to reflect the rustic sophistication and timeless elegance of a chic safari expedition, with plunge pools overlooking the Indian Ocean.

For those who wish to explore, there is a selection of water sports such as diving, fishing and sailing excursions - a clear turquoise lagoon and a house reef offer diverse marine life, including colourful parrotfish, manta rays and an occasional green sea turtle. Banyan Tree Madivaru is situated on one of the most secluded and remote areas of the Maldives and is close to some of the top ten dive sites in the Maldives, offering extraordinary diving experiences. After swimming through the awe-inspiring reefs, guests can relax in the villa for the ultimate indulgence - a private spa treatment by world renowned Banyan Tree Spa therapists.

Breakfast is served daily in the villa and after a busy day in the plunge pool or on the beach, dinner is cooked by a private chef - usually a feast of seafood served fresh from the crystal waters of the lagoon or a barbecue on the beach. A castaway dinner can be arranged on a deserted sandbank - just a table and chairs and an exquisite meal served by a private chef and waiter and surrounded by the serenity and beauty of the Indian Ocean.

The entire island and its six villas can be booked starting from only $9,900 per day (approximately £6,200) plus 10% service charge and USD8 per person per day. Based on a party of 12, each person would pay approximately £515 per night plus taxes and service. This price includes full board accommodation, a dedicated personal villa host, a private chef to prepare all meals (inclusive of soft drinks) and a variety of complimentary activities, kite flying, table tennis, badminton and a catamaran cruise.
