The focus of the resort will be an urban-style piazza with restaurants, shops and bars, while architecture is in a contemporary, urban style. The resort's developers are Sun Resorts, owners of Sugar Beach, Pirogue and Le Touessrok, also in Mauritius.

W Retreat Koh Samui - opening end 2010
Estimated to open on 1 November (but expected to be later by Destinology, hence inclusion here), the W Retreat Koh Samui will offer 75 villas, offering high-energy interiors, vivid design and the signature W bed. The W Retreat Koh Samui will be a tropical retreat, located on the Gulf of Thailand and surrounded by lush foliage. The resort will offer six restaurants and bars, including Namu serving Japanese food and tapas in the Sip Bar.
