"bgb's creative work put Namibia on the map for UK travellers in a matter of months"
Tom Buncle, Managing Director, Yellow Railroad
With half term and the second May Bank Holiday just around the corner, Red Funnel has teamed up with over twenty of the Isle of Wight's top attractions to provide great days out on the Island. From historical encounters, to screaming on a cliff-top roller coaster there's something for everyone, plus many attraction tickets are discounted when booked in advance through Red Funnel. Prices start at just £6.50 for attraction admission for a family of five and ferry travel for up to six passengers with a car is available from £32 return.
Isle of Wight Zoo - £19 for a family of four
Home to TV's Tiger Island, this wildlife centre supports the largest collection of tigers in the UK and specialises in taking care of endangered big cat and lemur species. Engaging presentations and a friendly knowledgeable team make this a special day out for all ages.
Osborne House - £22.75 for a family of five
Following the March release of "The Young Victoria", a film chronicling Queen Victoria's early years, interest in the monarch has been at an all time high. Osborne House was the Queen's favourite retreat, and offers guests a fascinating insight into Royal family life. Take in the jaw-dropping opulence of the Durbar Room, and enjoy a stroll in the gardens designed by Capability Brown, which stretch all the way to the Sea.
Bembridge Windmill - £6.50 for a family of five
Bembridge Windmill is the only surviving windmill on the Island and one of the best-loved landmarks. Climb to the fourth floor and take in the stunning views across the downs.
Blackgang Chine - £35 for a family of four
A perennial favourite, Blackgang Chine never ceases to delight both the young and those old enough to know better! The theme park is home to the thrilling Cliff Hanger roller coaster and a wet and wild High Speed Water-Shoot Ride. The park has an eclectic mix of exciting rides, fairy tale creatures, nursery rhyme characters and dinosaurs all set within 40 acres of rambling gardens.
The Needles Park - entry free, parking (usually £4) and a book of saver tickets from £12
A trip to the Isle of Wight wouldn't be complete without a visit to The Needles Park to see the iconic Needles landmark and to enjoy the pay-as-you-go attractions and rides. The chairlift offers spectacular views of the multi-coloured sand cliffs of Alum Bay and the famous stone monoliths. Within the park there is plenty to keep the family entertained including teacup rides, Jurassic golf and a sweet factory.
