Red Funnel Working With Celebrities

The Challenge - to raise awareness for Red Funnel's involvement with the Red Squirrel trust on an ongoing basis as well as during Red Squirrel week (4 - 12 October 2008).

The Activity - we engaged the help of Chris Packham (naturalist and presenter on The Really Wild Show) at no cost and asked him to front the Campaign - Save Our Squirrels. We created a microsite on the Red Funnel website with an interactive map showing the best places to see Red Squirrels on the Isle of Wight. We also created a photocall / interview opps for Chris to talk about his fight to save the red squirrel and created a spoof video of grey squirrel's fighting for their rights - which we uploaded to You Tube!

The Results - blanket local media broadcast and successful photocall with pictures and mentions as well as online coverage e.g. Ventnor blog etc
