Atlantis, The Palm brightens up London black cabs this summer

Atlantis, The Palm 1 June 2010

A selection of London's black cabs are being treated to a splash of summer fun this month, thanks to the iconic Atlantis, The Palm resort in Dubai. The resort has teamed up with Virgin Holidays to brighten up a fleet of 75 classic black cabs being wrapped both outside and in, featuring colourful images of the family friendly resort and its resident dolphin family. The campaign will be active for ten weeks through June and July 2010.

The London cab campaign times perfectly with the launch of ‘The Atlantis Big Break Competition', where a lucky person will win a trip of a lifetime for them and nine others. To be in with a chance to win, applicants have to make a video depicting why they deserve the five-night luxury break, which includes flights, accommodation, dolphin encounters at Dolphin Bay and a complimentary dinner at Ronda Locatelli for the whole group. There is also the chance to win a romantic break for two by answering a multiple-choice question after watching a short video. For more information and to enter www.atlantisdubaibigbreak.com

Throughout summer, the resort is holding 'Cool Summer Nights', which are carnival-themed evenings hosted in Atlantis's Aquaventure, the largest waterpark in the Middle East. Cool Summer Nights are held on the first Thursday of every month (June - August) and every Thursday in July. The waterpark stays open until midnight and guests can enjoy a range of entertainment, from stilt walkers and Samba dancers to magicians and Brazilian martial arts demonstrations, from fire-eaters and jugglers to face paints and mask-making for little ones. Guests can sit atop the Ziggurat, the centerpiece of Aquaventure, to enjoy the best views of the Dubai skyline before plunging 30ft into the darkness. The evenings close with an impressive firework and laser display.

Located atop The Palm in Dubai, Atlantis, The Palm is the region's first fully integrated resort, covering 46 hectares with 1,539 guest rooms and suites. Atlantis, The Palm is perfect for families and couples alike, boasting a Kids Club, Aquaventure - the largest water park in the Middle East, boutique shopping at The Avenues and a choice of 17 bars and restaurants - including four partnered with Michelin-starred chefs. For those wanting a once-in-a-lifetime experience, Atlantis, The Palm is home to Dolphin Bay, which invites guests to interact with the resident bottle nose dolphin family.
